About RAAYS

We have all witnessed racism and its heavy impacts on our communities.

RAAYS is an Aboriginal-led research project that aims to understand the daily racism facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged 12-17 years old.

Our goal is to find out the types and frequency of racism happening in the everyday lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, the effects racism has on them, and the positive coping methods they are using to respond to racism.

We are also working to determine how daily racism can be safely addressed and mitigated by adults who work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. The RAAYS project works toward improving the social, economic and health outcomes for our young people.
